Our house call hours are from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. on Monday through Thursdays.
All appointments are scheduled during these hours. House calls are not usually scheduled on Fridays, weekends, or holidays. Please call (830.606.7867) or email (drkaren2222@yahoo.com) us at least a day or two in advance for an appointment. You will reach an answering service, so please leave us a detailed message as to what we need to do for your pet and when would be a good day and time for you. We will try to return your call or email that afternoon - if we are really busy, it may be the next morning - so please leave us a number where we can reach you at either time. Evening and weekend appointments will be made to accommodate work schedules only when necessary and with an extra charge.
Many mistake us for an emergency/ambulance service. Dr. Karen does not take emergency or after-hour calls except for established clients and only when available. If your pet is seriously ill or injured and Dr. Karen is not available, please take your pet to the nearest veterinary hospital or emergency clinic (Emergency Pet Clinic in NB is 830-609-2873 and in SA is 210-822-2873).
Please keep in mind that this is a "solo" practice, which means Dr. Karen is the only veterinarian and cannot always be available. She will attend family events, go on vacation and attend conferences for continuing education hours needed to renew her license each year. We hope no one is inconvenienced too greatly by these times of absence.
